Surf Program in Shoreham
Woolworths SurfGroms allows kids from all around Australia to learn to surf in a fun, safe and exciting environment. They will make new friends, have loads of fun at the beach, learn about ocean and surf safety and develop skills they will embrace for a lifetime.
The programs are applicable to children from 5-12 years old and teach core skills in the ocean across five incremental skill levels, as well as fundamental ocean awareness and beach safety skills such as surf survival and rescue techniques, basic first aid skills, and about varying surf conditions at the beach.
Salty runs Woolworths SurfGroms programs over 4 surf sessions that operate over 8 weeks during the school term. The reason that it runs fortnightly is so that we always surf with the high tide. The location of classes can change to suit conditions and the groups’ abilities but are generally based around Shoreham and Point Leo. You will be sent a text message with the class location on the morning of each session.
Each program has a max capacity of 7 kids with 2 fully qualified surfing instructors. Small group sizes and a high ratio of instructors ensure that your child has a positive and progressive surf experience in a controlled and safe environment. Parents are more than welcome to join us in the water to lend a hand if they like. Salty is happy to provide wetsuits for parents if needed.
